S.M.A.R.T. goals

I was cleaning out my closet on the weekend and came across a few (to put it mildly) notebooks. In one of them were notes from an online course I took a few years ago, and it was talking about making effective goals.

The course suggested using the S.M.A.R.T. system for making goals.

S – Specific
M – Measurable
A – Attainable
R – Realistic
T – Time bound

I used the system when I started planning my original trip to Turkey in 2020, which of course got canceled due to COVID. I had it completely planned and the air ticket purchased, only to having cancel the whole thing.

I put this notebook in a box when I moved multiple times in the past couple of years, and when I found it I remembered how useful the system was.

So, in a brand new notebook, I have started to set new goals, using this system. I know it works, and I know I can get to where I want to go using it. It’s time to get SMART about my goals!
