How do you get motivated? Can you do it on your own or do you need encouragement? Are you more motivated to get things done in the morning, afternoon or evening?

I have a hard time getting motivated some days – I love spending time with my grandson and so he takes precedence these days during the day. But at the age of 56, running around with a 1 year old (almost!) is exhausting! By the time the evening arrives and he is tucked in for the night, I usually watch TV until bed time. Sometimes I come on here and blog, or surf the internet. I have not been motivated at all to get back to writing my book. Until tonight!

I signed up with a writing club recently and tonight was the first online meeting. It was a 10 minute chat and then we all got down to writing for just under 2 hours. We make ourselves accountable by leaving our video on so that we can all see each other writing – it’s definitely a good motivator to have people who can see what you are doing! I made it through the two hours and managed to write the entire time. I worked on my book and also my journal for a bit. It’s been a while since I journalled and I definitely needed that tonight.

So glad I got a chance to do this and I will definitely be joining the group again at their next meetup.
