Prague

For many of you, you know I love Prague. I lived there for two years and it was definitely the best two years of my life. When I left in June 2016, I thought I’d be gone for maybe a year and a half and then be back for a visit before I headed off teaching again.

That didn’t happen, obviously, and I have been yearning to get back there to see my favourite places and my friends! Up until about three weeks ago, I was still trying to figure out how and when I’d get there. Until I signed up for something!

After doing an assessment which took over 3 hours, and then a test which should not have taken me as long as it did, I am now a Trip Leader with joinmytrip.com. I have already planned my first leading trip to… PRAGUE! Of course – then I can go there and show people why I love it so much!

I am attaching the link to my planned trip, and if you are interested in more information, or know someone who may want to go on a trip there, please let me know!

Remembering 2021 and hoping for a better 2022

I must say, at the beginning of 2021, I had high hopes for this year.

I had a grandson, and a granddaughter due later in May, and really was wondering how I was going to make it work out with a grandchild in different parts of the country.

Unfortunately, things changed quickly and soon both grandchildren were out west, not on the best circumstances but they were both there.

In the midst of all the goings on with my children and grandchildren, my father passed away. He had been ill for a couple of years so it wasn’t that much a surprise. So many things happened in the first part of the year – none of them good – so when the end of May came around and I was ready to head out west to be with the kids, I was excited for a new beginning.

I’ve had so many new beginnings over my life, one more was just another exciting adventure. I headed out in my rental car, loaded up with me, my daughter’s stuff and my grandson’s stuff, and was very excited about the trip. It was a beautiful drive and I enjoyed the 5 days of solitude and driving.

Living with my grandson and having the ability to see him every single day is the one thing that makes this year great. And then I had the pleasure of seeing my granddaughter and being close to her as well. So I am happy about that. But the work situation has put an incredible strain on my life. And not being respected by many – including my children, but that’s something I’m going to deal with in the new year.

2022 is going to be great because I am telling myself it will be. I will be travelling somewhere at some point this year – Prague is on the list and other parts of Europe that I haven’t seen yet. I will get there this year – I will do whatever it takes to get on a plane and go somewhere!!!

I wish you all a very Happy New Year and an amazing 2022.
