For as long as I can remember, the one thing that can bring me out of a bad mood is a good song – whether it’s a sad song, a happy song, a good dance song – really doesn’t matter what kind of music it is, the joy I feel when I hear music makes me want to get outside and sing at the top of my lungs – which is something I would NEVER do – no one wants to hear this voice!
I love musicals – movies or the theatre – and I can’t get enough of them. I want to live in a world where, when something exciting happens (whether it’s sad or happy), we break out in song. Just imagine what the world would be like if we did that. We have a great day – well let’s sing about it and make everyone else happy! Have a crappy day – break out in a heartbreaking song that makes you cry, and in turn, makes you feel better in the long run. Tears can be cleansing.
So, if you’re feeling blue, turn on some music. It can cheer you up. Feeling happy – turn on some dance music and dance around your room. You’ll get some exercise and make you feel great! Music soothes our souls – even the sad songs. Cry your heart out, dance like no one is watching, sing till you lose your voice – get those emotions out and make yourself feel better. And if you are brave enough – start singing in the grocery store and see if anyone joins you. Who knows – you may create your own musical!
